My wife, Dianne, and I rented a car and spent several days on our own exploring western Iceland, a day on the Snæfellsnes peninsula and several days in the Westfjords region. Though we traversed the entire coastline of Westfjords, our target destination was the Látrabjarg bird cliffs, which more than a million birds call home. Favorites were the puffins.
As you can see, this part of the country is extremely isolated and raw. Enjoy!
