Borneo, our 6th and final destination in this amazing journey. Borneo is the third largest island in the world, and is politically divided among three countries - Malasia & Brunei in the north and Indonesia in the south. We explored the Sabah Region of Malaysian Borneo. This area contains extensive forest reserves (~50% of Sabah), which feature virgin rain forests and are home to an incredible array of indigenous wildlife. The Sabah and other areas however are threatened by logging, clearing for palm oil plantations, and wildlife poaching. Our guide, Charlie Ryan, is an American expat, who has become an incredible steward of the Sabah region. Charlie and his partner Jessica (our guide in the previous part of the trip) are great folks who lead travelers throughout the area. Check out their website... https://www.stickyricetravel.com
