Another image from the District Six Museum. Virtually all the houses were razed, and nearly 60,000 people were forcibly relocated, although the white neighborhood was never actually built. The museum contains a map of the area on the floor with handwritten inscriptions by people who lived there. Also hanging from the ceiling is a large banner with handwritten memories from many of the former inhabitants.
